From the “Meet the Filmmakers” series held in Feburary 2010 at the Apple Store in Sanlitun, Beijing. The series, co-presented by the Apple Store and dGenerate Films, is an ongoing series to showcase Chinas newest filmmakers powered by digital technology.

Jian Yi is a contempoary indpendent Chinese filmmaker. He holds an MA in International Journalism from Beijing Broadcasting Institute and a secod MA in Interational Peace Studies from University of Notre Dame. He is the founder of ARTiSIMPLE Studio in Beijing and has organized many community projects in China, for examples, IFCHINA in Ji’An, Jiangxi, as well as “China Villager Documentary Project.” By 2010, two of his films, Super, Girls! and Bamboo Shoots, have won awards in internationla film festivals.

With two major motion pictures, a new album and an international mega-tour on tap for 2008, Vanessa Hudgens can sense the approaching cyclone. The media frenzy, the blur of time zones, the roar of the arena crowd: it’s all part of the package. But having been around this block before, the 19-year-old singer is more than ready. With her new Hollywood Records CD, Identified, Vanessa Hudgens has matured, revealing a level of sophisticated artistry sure to thrill long-time fans and draw in new fans as well.

Working with A-list songwriter-producers like JR Rotem, Dr. Luke, Tim James & Antonina Armato, Vanessa took unexpected turns on the new album. “This time I did what I wanted to do,” she says. “I always had a knack for a more soulful, jazzy sound, so right off the bat I wanted to kind of let loose, and come up with a sound no one has heard from me before.” She’s not exaggerating. For those familiar with her sweet-toned performances from the “High School Musical” films – which catapulted her to superstardom – or her 2006 debut CD, V, Vanessa has some gritty surprises in store. Vanessa’s first single and video, “Sneakernight,” is both fun and funky, and may end up as one of the CD’s most enduring hits. Says Vanessa, “Dancing in sneakers makes it all the better. People haven’t been able to see that side of me. I can kick butt!”

Best known as a singer and actress, Vanessa is also a superb dancer, so for the new album she raised the stakes with pummeling dance tracks like “First Bad Habit.”

1- computer languages are needed because they allow the person using the computer to tell the computer what to do.
2- the earlier computers were used mainly by scientists for performing millions of complicated calculations.
3- these languages had facilities such as extensive file handling and scheduling of processing.
4- at high level language is a language geared towards solving problems.
5-high level languages are much easier to write than low level languages because the program instructions are similar to instructions written in English.
6- ‘ high’ in the name ‘ high level language’ mean that the language is more problem orientated.
7- BASIC is an ideal language for people who are learning programming.
8- BASIC can be used for writing business and scientific programs.
9- so low level language are seldom used nowadays.
10- machine code is a machine language with instruction in a binary code that can be understood directly by the computer hardware.
11- the main problem with programming in machine language is that codes are very difficult to memorize and having to look them up.
1-nowadays, with the increase in memory size and the low cost, it is possible for managers, secretaries. to all have their own " personal computers".
2- personal computers are microcomputers and are used as standalone computers.
3- IBM ( international business machines) were the first company to build a PC ( personal computer).
4-the Amstrad 1512 and 1640 PCs are very popular with home users because they are not as expensive as IBM PCs.
5- the more expensive IBM PC is used mainly by businesses.
6- for serious users, double disk drives are essential.
7- for file handling , a large backing store is needed.
8- MB stands for a megabyte ( 1 MB = 1024* 1024 bytes)
9- a 20 MB hard disk can store 50 times as much data as a floppy disk hard disk are able to store more data because their recording surface is larger.
10- each side of each individual disk has its own read/write head which means that data from different disks can be transferred at the same time. this makes hard disk drives much faster than floppy disk drives.
11- most PCs have three operating systems to choose from : DOS ( disc operating system) , MSDOS ( microsoft disk operating system ) and GEM ( graphics environment manager).
12- GEM is the operating system that uses a mouse.
13- GEM uses icons which are pictures of the things you can do using this operating system.
14- one advantage of computerized filing is that data on a computer filing system can be searched by item held on the card such as postal code.
15- a database is a series of files stored on a computer which can be accessed in different ways .

This actually isnt that hard, it just might take a little time. Do your own homework.

Once RCA Victor introduced the first 45 rpm phonographs, they knew the importance of having not just one 45 rpm record available, but a selection of different artists and styles from which buyers could choose.

Thus, in February 1949, they mixed a little of everything in with the very first batch of 45s shipped to record stores. They arrived in a custom envelope labeled: This Is Your Preview of the New RCA Victor 45 R.P.M. RECORD LINE!

Inside are seven singles, each of which is made using a different color plastic — each color representing seven different musical styles.

The colors and the records are: cerise, or cherry red, for Blues & Rhythm (That’s All Right, Big Boy Crudup, 50-0000); green for Country & Western (Spanish Fandango, Spade Cooley, 48-0027); sky-blue for International (A Klein Melamedl, Saul Meisels, 51-0000); midnight blue for Popular Classics (The French Marching Song, Al Goodman & His Orchestra, 52-0006); and black for Popular (Because, Dick Leibert, 47-2857).

The remaining two in the series are: red for Red Seal Classical and yellow for Children’s Entertainment. Unfortunately, we have yet to learn the artists and titles of this pair of discs.

As the music industry’s very first 45s, the preview envelope suggests: Use these seven records as samples between now and March 31st [1949], and for use with the forthcoming window and counter displays.

The copy writers then wisely and amazingly foretell: You may wish to hold them as collector’s items — the first production run of a record that will set the pace for the entire industry!

Made specifically for in-store use, and not broadcasters, this Whirl-Away Demonstration Record played over and over, calling attention to the colorful display.

Now everyone can hear music history being made.

Jahre später sollten die beiden Gitarristen der Band, George Young und Henry Vanda, ein erfolgreiches Produzententeam bilden. Later the two guitarists, George Young and Henry Vanda, became a famous songwriter and producer duo. Their work includes the first seven albums of AC/DC – featuring George’s younger brothers Angus and Malcolm Young! And don’t forget their 80s pop group Flash & the Pan with the hits “Early Morning Wake Up Call” an “Midnight Man”.

April 17th, 2010, was Record Store Day. This is the first time I’ve heard of this holiday.

I’m not sure if it’s just a national thing in the USA, but I figure if it was international, then I would have heard about it in Australia.

Nevertheless, independent record stores participate and offer great discounts on records (vinyls) as well as offering free food, beverages, and live music throughout the day.

It’s quite a fun experience.
